Gurusree Public School celebrated Onam on the school’s premises amidst much fanfare involving staff and management of the school. The celebrations started with setting up of an attractive floral decoration (pookalam) in the ground floor. The programme began with welcoming of Mahabali Chakravarthy and Vamanan with chenda-melam and Pulikali. It was well-received by the audience. Pookalam competition (house-wise) was held on first floor. The Emerald house got First position and Diamond got second position. Impressive designs and artistic creativity were the hallmarks of the Pookalam, which turned out to be attractive and mesmerizing and took everyone into a world of festivity and fun. The main attractions of the programme were Onappattu, Group song and Kaikotti Kali by teachers of our school, Fancy dress (Malayali manka) of KG kids. In the ‘Tug of War’ competition, boys section Diamond team won & in girls section Emerald team won. The traditional ‘onasadhya’ was served at 11am and our kids had Payasam and all with lot of happiness. Manager/Secretary of S N Mission Sri Deepak Sathyapalan distributed the prizes for the winners.
